Join us on an unforgettable two-day excursion along the Icelandic south coast to the breathtaking Glacier Lagoon (Jökulsárlón) where seals are swimming between the icebergs. See powerful waterfalls, volcanic sand beaches and the biggest glacier in Europe (Vatnajökull). Travel like true Vikings through lunar landscapes where rivers roar through black deserts sands and experience the countless natural splendours the coastline has to offer. Finally you will hike on a glacier where you will witness the merciless effects of global warming first hand.

DAY 1

Seljalandsfoss
The first stop is at Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can walk behind and feel the vibrations of the water hitting the ground.

Skógafoss
Prepare to meet the pearl of the south coast, Skógafoss waterfall. It is dropping 60 metres from a cliff and producing a lot of mist which makes beautiful rainbows in the sunshine. Try run up the 527 steps to the top!

Reynisfjara
We will visit the black sand beach of Reynisfjara where big waves are hitting the shore. You can see basalt columns in the cliffs, rock pillars in the water and the cliffs of Dýrhólaey in the distance. But this beach is also a paradise for bird lovers because puffins are nesting on top of the rocks in the summertime from june to august.

DAY 2

Jökulsárlón
This morning we will see the famous Glacier Lagoon, a 250m deep glacial lake fed by Europe’s biggest glacier with enormous icebergs. We will have a walk along the shore of the lake and enjoy wonderful views to the icebergs and feel the absolute silence of icelandic nature. Troll Expeditions will give you the opportunity to book a boat ride between the icebergs.

Diamond Beach
Just on the other side of the road the icebergs are floating into the atlantic ocean and are thrown back to shore by weather and tides. This black sand beach is full of smaller ice rocks in uncountable shapes and sizes, sparkling like diamonds in the daylight. Sometimes even some blue icebergs are stranding at this beach and give opportunities for spectacular pictures.

Glacier Hike
To complete our perfect adventure we will high five with a real glacier!
